I worked quite a few late nights on this one (or early mornings). McBess (mcbess.com) created an illustration for Syzygy. I was then asked to create the answer website for it.
'20 Things That Happened on the Internet in 2010' was thought up by John Bennett and Victor Sahate. A mixture of 20 memes and web technologies are located in the illustration.
I was given the flat illustration to work with and that was all. I spent several hours pulling out each of the 20 clues. I think the Johnny Cash illustration was the most difficult to cut out right.
I designed it to be fully functional on any device using the Google Maps API (v3). A bit of an exploratory site that didn't give you the answers right away for those who had not seen the illustration before.
This is one of those projects that started by was never finished. So this is mostly concept work that I had fun pulling apart.
I started to build/experiment with the foundation of the site in my spare time and when I get the chance I will try and build all of it.
